Solfeggio frequencies
The solfeggio scale is a set of tones popular in sound meditation. The six original ones are 396, 417, 528, 639, 741 and 852 Hz; 174, 285 and 963 Hz were added later. Read the full solfeggio frequencies guide.

432 Hz and 528 Hz
432 Hz is an alternative tuning for the note A (most music uses 440 Hz). 528 Hz is the best-known solfeggio tone. More in our guides to 432 Hz and 528 Hz.
How binaural beats work
Each ear hears a slightly different tone, for example 200 Hz on the left and 206 Hz on the right. Your brain notices the 6 Hz difference as a slow pulse. That is why you need headphones. People usually pick the beat by the brainwave band it matches:
| Band | Beat | Often used for |
|---|---|---|
| Delta | 0.5–4 Hz | Deep sleep |
| Theta | 4–8 Hz | Meditation, drowsiness |
| Alpha | 8–13 Hz | Relaxed, calm focus |
| Beta | 13–30 Hz | Active focus |
| Gamma | 30–40 Hz | Concentration |

White, pink and brown noise
White noise has equal energy at every frequency and sounds like hiss. Pink noise is softer in the highs, like steady rain. Brown noise is deeper still, like a distant waterfall or rumble. See white vs pink vs brown noise to pick one.
Questions
Is this tone generator free?
Yes. It runs in your browser with no sign-up and no download. The sound is made live by your browser, so nothing is streamed.
Do I need headphones?
For binaural beats, yes: each ear gets a slightly different tone, and speakers mix them together. Pure tones and noise work on speakers too.
Why does the sound stop when my phone screen locks?
Most phone browsers pause web audio when the screen turns off. For listening all night, use the free Healing Sounds app, which keeps playing with the screen off and has a sleep timer.
What is the difference between 432 Hz and 528 Hz?
They are two different pitches. 432 Hz is an alternative tuning reference for the note A (standard tuning uses 440 Hz). 528 Hz is one of the six original solfeggio frequencies. Which one you prefer is a matter of taste.
Can these sounds treat a health condition?
No. These sounds are for relaxation, focus and sleep routines. They are not a medical treatment, and scientific evidence for specific health effects of solfeggio frequencies is limited.
